The Secrets Out!!

My Secrets Out!
At Long Flippin' Last!

I was bursting at the seams to tell somebody...anybody, but was sworn to secrecy by some very special and very talented ladies.

But now I can shout it from the rooftops if I like...

We're only blooming well in Rock N Roll Bride!

Sooooo how did you get there?  I hear you ask!

Well let me tell you...

It's always been my dream to do a proper photoshoot, you know the kind beautiful models, professional photographers and all that...

Well thanks to Claire Penn who I met through flickr I got to know one of her bestest buddies and fellow photographer Andrea Ellison, these two ladies who are both natural light photographers have the most amazing talent of not only capturing those special moments but the little details that really matter throughout your wedding day, family photoshoot, portfolio...whatever, check out their websites and see for yourself!

We got chatting about doing a photoshoot, just for fun, and the next thing you know the wheels were being put in motion...

I have to say at this point Andrea was the driving force behind this amazing shoot, she already had a model in mind who she had picked up approached in her local pub, much to her husband's dismay, but I am so glad she did as Amelia is stunningly  beautiful and looks like a 1950's hollywood starlet so she was just perfect for our 1950's theme, Andrea also arranged for the talented make up artist Hannah who runs her Make Up By Indi, who to our very good luck was just as gorgeous as Amelia and so was bullied coaxed into becoming our second model and what a pair of 50's sirens they were.

I knew straight away that as we were doing a wedding shoot there was two people that just had to be involved...

Helen of Cats Whiskers Cake Design who makes the most breathtakingly beautiful cakes that taste divine, her icing flowers are all made by hand and look even better than the real thing!  Fortunately I knew Helen from doing wedding fairs and was chuffed to bits when she said yes.

Next on my "hit list" was to try and convince Lynn of Hair Bows Wonderland who makes the most stunning bouquets made from vintage flower brooches, they are to die for, after a bit of email hockey I was so happy when she agreed to be on board.

Again down to Andrea's gift of the gab wonderful powers of persuasion she managed to to get the beautiful Willington Hall on the team, a beautiful hall built in the 1820's with stunning grounds and picturesque views, Simon the owner was the perfect host keeping us fed and watered throughout the day.

Luckilly for us Claire and Andrea's friend the talented Jo Rutherford who is very well known and highly respected photographer who runs the now famous walkabouts, agreed to join in.

The beautiful 1950's inspired wedding dresses  gorgeous petis were kindly loaned by Amy of Honeypie Boutique who didn't bat an eye about lending these stunning dressers to a bunch of strangers, thanks you so much Amy.

Amelia owns her own vintage clothing emporium aka Blue Velvet Vintage Store opening soon in Frodsham, and so the beautiful blue dresses came from there.

I want to say a special thank you to Claire for working her magic on editing and processing all the photos, you did an amazing job chick.

And so the photoshoot was born...

Wow I don't think I've ever written as much in my blog before...

Thinks it's time for the photos to speak for themselves...

And a final big thank you to Kat of Rock n Roll Bride for featuring us all in your amazing blog.

I thank my lucky stars the day I met this talented bunch of ladies, who I am so proud to now call my friends...

Love You All!

Bring On The Next One!

Village Fete Wedding

I am always in awe of the floral decorations and venue styling of Mat from Red Floral Architecture, and I eagerly await the next lot of photos he uploads here from his wedding or events ... and I have to say the man is a genius... he never ever disappoints, and always leaves me feeling inspired

So when these lot of photos came through featuring some of our vintagey goodies, I literally squealed with joy, the attention to detail is amazing...
I

Our vintage gold frames look ace tied to pillars with brightly coloured ribbons

I adore the bunting around our watering cans

The little extras make all the difference I love the rossettes he's added to the chairs

The aliums and peonies look perfect in our milk churns

Doesn't it look fab with the small union jack bunting and polka dot ribbons

Some of our vintage enamel jars filled with country flowers

The rosettes were customised with the bride & grooms name and date of marriage

Vintage enamel jugs as table centrepices

Mat's signature floral displays are magnificent

The church lychgate looks stunning decorated with seasonal flowers

I can't believe how many different flowers must have gone into decorating the lychgate, in this shot alone you can see lupins, hydrangeas, scabiosa (lot prettier than it's name), stock, poppies, eucalyptus and daisies it must have smelled divine as you walked underneath it.

Digging the use of vintage cloches and crystal vases

I love how he's made these brightly coloured kissing balls (or pom poms as they are known Up North) look funky decorating
"The Never Inn"

So much prettier made out of tulle rather than tissue paper don't you think?
