Pretty Primroses

I came home from work today to find the rain had bashed down my primroses in the garden, they looked so forlorn and bedraggled that I decided to pick a few of them and display them in these pretty vintage paste jars.

Musn't complain though I spoke to a client in Ireland today and they had snow blizzards!!

Primroses

I dug these jars up from a local victorian tip, brought them home and gave them a good scrub up, they look so sweet with flowers especially wild flowers in and are availabe in kinds of shapes and sizes to hire from Saddleworth Shindigs

Tulips...

I bought these gorgeous tulips last week and have them on the side in a vintage enamel jug, they looked so good I just had to share them with you, they are getting to that stage where they are all bendy and twisty, I have to say I think this is when they are at their best.

Happy St Patrick's Day!!

An Irish Prayer

May God give you...
For every storm, a rainbow,
For every tear, a smile,
For every care, a promise,
And a blessing in each trial.
For every problem life sends,
A faithful friend to share,
For every sigh, a sweet song,
And an answer for each prayer.

An Old Irish Blessing

May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!

Murphy's Law

Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong.
Celibacy is not hereditary.
Beauty is only skin deep, ugly goes to the bone.
Never argue with a fool, people might not know the difference.
Friends come and go, but enemies accumulate.
The other queue always moves faster.
Anything you try to fix will take longer and cost more than you thought.
The chance of a slice of bread falling butterside down is directly proportional to the cost of the carpet.
Never sleep with anyone crazier than yourself.
The repairman will never have seen a model quite like yours before.
A short cust is the longest distance between two points.
Anything good in life is either illegal, immoral or fattening.
The light at the end of the tunner is the headlamp of an oncoming traing.
Murphy's golden rule: Whoever has the gold makes the rules.
In order to get a loan, you must first prove you don't need it.

Murphy was an optimist.

Happy St Patrick's Day to all my irish friends

Helloooo and Welcome

Hello and a very warm welcome to my first ever blog!!

My name is Mandy, and after getting married in August, 2009, to my best friend and soul mate Chris, I suffered the dreaded "post wedding blues".

It's true I'd officially caught the wedding bug and so after such wonderful feedback from my own wedding and much encouragement from family and friends Saddleworth Shindigs a vintage china hire and vintage shop was born.

Through this blog I aim to put some of my ideas and inspirations through along with items we have to offer at Saddleworth Shindigs from vintage china hire to vintage inspired wedding favours and beautiful vintage jewellery.

Here is a selection of our pretty china cups:-

And we are building a large collection of the prettiest tea and coffee pots:-

Well that's all for my first posting, please bear with me as I suffer technophobia so unsure of how this will turn out, and I must get a shuffle on it's Mother's Day tomorrow and I need to go out and do some shopping.

Thanks for looking in
